More than 80,000 people across New Zealand play hockey every year between the summer and winter variations.
Hockey was the first sport to be played at Saxton Field, in 1986. Today, they are one of the few codes that truly caters to all ages – from kindergarten to seniors, including players, coaches, and managers. Throughout the season, nearly 2,000 players use the two hockey turfs on a weekly basis.
